Startups take the spotlight at CoMotion Labs during Seattle Tech Week

Seattle Tech Week put UW entrepreneurship on display as 25 startups came together for Startup Spotlight, an expo-style showcase hosted by CoMotion, Plug and Play, and Creative Destruction Lab–Seattle.

Held during Seattle Tech Week, the event gave founders an opportunity to share their breakthroughs, demonstrate products, and highlight the progress they’re making from lab to market. Attendees could meet the teams and explore innovations spanning enterprise technology, deep tech, biotech, fintech, sustainability, healthcare, AI, and more.

The participating startups reflected the breadth of innovation emerging from the UW and CoMotion community, with technologies spanning AI and enterprise software, robotics, life sciences and digital health, climate tech, advanced materials, fintech, and more. Teams are tackling challenges ranging from PFAS destruction and plastic alternatives to drug discovery, medical training, supply-chain management, cybersecurity, financial inclusion, and the future of autonomous systems. The lineup included UW spinoffs and student- and alumni-founded ventures, as well as startups from across CoMotion Labs programs—including a member of the Climate Tech Incubator cohort and companies participating in the Curinos FinTech Incubator and Plug and Play Seattle accelerator.
