What is your startup all about?
Combining the latest technology in AI and machine learning with simple hardware to increase medication adherence and allow independent living for people who are: blind, low vision, elderly, and memory challenged.
What problem do you solve?
Our Pill Packet Dispenser is the only medical device designed with AI image recognition, voice recognition, and conversational avatars. Medication can be dispensed and tracked using voice control with patient-recorded symptoms instantly transmitted to HIPAA-compliant healthcare providers, friends or family. Our video conferencing of remote visits, adherence recording, and symptom tracking are covered by five Medicare CPT codes and all insurance companies.
What’s the latest?
We completed our Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) – FDA grant study and UW Senior Capstone hardware development. We have been continuing to make progress in the CoMotion hardware lab and have begun to assemble our prototype Pill Packet Dispenser (check it out in the link below!). New hires will join us in April. In addition, we were accepted into the Foster School of Business as a Marketing Sponsor for the spring quarter Entrepreneurial Marketing 2021 Business Marketing class where a team of students will provide a data-driven business plan for roll-out and marketing of our product. Soon, we plan to build a few dozen dispensers for beta testing in: chronic care clinical studies, healthcare facilities, VA hospital extension programs, and home healthcare services.
Do you have any startup advice?
Begin with a clearly defined vision, add features that make sense, keep busting out prototypes, and be prepared to spend ten times as long as you expected on hardware problems!
