CoMotion support for the Global Entrepreneur in Residence pilot program
CoMotion is piloting a pathway to a Global Entrepreneur in Residence (GEIR) program designed to help qualified foreign-born entrepreneurs remain in Washington State to grow their startups. Applicants should have an affiliation with the University of Washington, including being part of a UW spinout, or having been a UW graduate student or postdoc.
Eligibility
Combining part-time employment at UW and at the company allows for the business, and new high-skilled jobs, to grow here in Washington State.
Requirements:
- A position at the UW must be available or identified for which the candidate is qualified.
- Funding for the UW position and the H1-B application must be identified.
- Candidate must be a startup entrepreneur in a leadership position (CEO, CTO, co-founder), within an early-stage venture.
- Candidate’s startup must be funded or show a very high promise of being funded.
- Candidate must have a master’s degree or above in STEM or related business fields.
- Candidate and their startup headquarters must both be in Washington State.
