Professor Ankur M. Teredesai is a renowned academic with extensive contributions to artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and healthcare informatics. As a Professor in the School of Engineering and Technology at the University of Washington Tacoma, he has established himself as a leading expert in applied AI, particularly in the fields of interpretable machine learning, fairness in healthcare AI, and recommendation systems for health.

Ankur Teredesai is a tenured professor at the School of Engineering and Technology, University of Washington and the founder and CEO of CueZen. With over 20 years of expertise in Healthcare AI, Ankur has published more than 150 influential research papers. His work has focused on applying AI and Machine Learning across the continuum of care, with a particular emphasis on fairness, equity, and scalability. Ankur’s contributions have led to the deployment of several impactful AI solutions for global health systems, from his pioneering work in shoulder arthroplasty to reducing hospitalizations and improving the quality of end of life for patients transitioning to palliative care.

Entrepreneurial Achievements

In 2015, Ankur founded KenSci, a spinout from the University of Washington. KenSci was the world’s first cloud based verticalized AI platform for health and was acquired by Providence Health Systems in 2021. Following this success, he founded CueZen to harness the power of Generative AI and the nobel prize winning Nudge Theory to personalize health recommendations for increased adherence, engagement and improving outcomes. Today, CueZen’s personalization engine powers behaviour change solutions across the wellness, fitness, and chronic condition management spectrum, and is integrated into major health platforms globally.
