Background

My career has been focused on early- and mid-stage medical device commercialization, from quick and dirty rapid prototyping and testing, to grant writing and pitch development, to strategic planning and interactions with regulatory bodies.

I am currently a Principal Regulatory Affairs Specialist at EchoNous supporting our small-but-mighty, AI-enabled Point-of-Care Ultrasound system. I also serve as the Portfolio Manager assisting over three hundred companies for the Southwest National Pediatric Medical Device Innovation Consortium (SWPDC) and advisory board member for Rice 360 Institute for Global Health.

You can also sometimes find me as a judge and mentor for events like Texas New Ventures Competition, Rice Business Plan Competition, and MedTech Innovator. I’m a proud Rice University alumna and have a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry and Cell Biology and Master’s in Bioengineering – Global Medical Innovations track.

Working with CoMotion

Mentor journey

I started mentoring with CoMotion in May 2025, participating in I-Corps and Pitch Mastery workshop. When I moved to Seattle from Houston, I immediately realized how deeply I missed having a local, growing community of eager and hungry life science startup companies to uplift and collaborate with. Needless to say, UW CoMotion is itching that scratch and I’m grateful to be a part of this network of brilliant entrepreneurs and advisors to bridge the gap and bring to life viable solutions to critical, unmet needs.

Advice to innovators

Identify and talk to your stakeholders early and often. In Medtech, there isn’t just one type of stakeholder, either. Also, no founder can fly solo in a silo, and you don’t know what you don’t know. Build and grow your community.

On the lighter side

Role models

My role models are the impassioned healthcare providers out in the field identifying unmet needs and doing something about it, figuring out ways it can be done better and with more inclusivity, and challenging the standard of care.

More about me

I am especially excited about women’s health and pediatrics. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you’re developing a technology in either of these areas!
