Transfer of Human Biological Material

To transfer identifiable human biological material samples collected at UW to a third party, the UW owner/sender of the bio-specimens must be able to show that the biospecimens were collected under an IRB approved study and consent form that permit sharing with a third party. The IRB approval may be from the UW IRB (or an IRB that the UW relies upon through a written agreement). De-identified bio-specimens (no identifying information associated with the samples) do not fall under IRB purview and do not require documentation of IRB approval.
