Since 2010, the Postdoctoral Entrepreneurship Program (PEP) has been a powerhouse of innovation, awarding over 75 highly competitive grants that have directly fueled the creation of 31 new startups. These ventures have collectively attracted an astounding $900M in investment. Beyond new companies, PEP has facilitated six licenses to established companies and launched three direct-to-user programs delivering impactful services and products directly from UW.

PEP offers a tailored, year-long training opportunity that empowers Postdoctoral Entrepreneurs (PEs) with the essential skills to build and manage thriving companies. It serves as critical proving ground, enabling PEs to rigorously test their entrepreneurial aptitude and transformative ideas in a supportive environment.

The continued success of the Postdoctoral Entrepreneurship Program is made possible by the generous and strategic support of UW CoMotion and the Washington Research Foundation.
