SPRING 2021 KEY DATES
Please hold these dates on your calendar.
Unless otherwise specified, all CoMotion Innovation Fund activities will be held via Zoom.
Unless otherwise indicated, all steps are mandatory and the deliverables will be used when evaluating whether or not a project should receive funding.
Declarations of Intent: Database Profile Due
- Friday, February 5th (5pm)
The CoMotion Innovation Gap Fund Declaration of Intent (DOI) will be submitted via the CoMotion Online Advisory Solutions Database. Ask your Innovation Manager for a link to set up a profile, or click here to be taken directly to the database. If you already have a profile in the database, you will need to login and edit your profile and select “CoMotion Advisory Solutions Program: What specific program are you applying for?: Innovation Gap Fund, SPRING 2021.” If you do not have a profile in the database, you will need to create one: https://uwcomotion.chronus.com/
Make sure to select “CoMotion Advisory Solutions Program: What specific program are you applying for?:
CoMotion Innovation Gap Fund, FALL 2020.”
Your profile in the database will be used to facilitate matching a business advisor with your team. Your advisor will assist you in developing a business case for your technology. Please answer all of the questions as best as you can.
Customer Discovery Workshop – OPTIONAL
- Thursday, February 11th, (1:00pm-4:00pm)
Your team’s PI is strongly encouraged to attend the Customer Discovery Workshop. Email cmifund@uw.edu to confirm attendance. Teams who have participated in the NIH-I-Corps Program do not need to attend.
Round Robin Feedback Sessions – OPTIONAL
- Tuesday, February 23rd, (8:30am-11:30am)
- Thursday, March 4th (8:30am-11:30am)
Your team’s PI is strongly encouraged to attend a Round Robin Feedback Session. Email cmifund@uw.edu to confirm when you will be able to attend. This will help us ensure there are enough mentors available for all participants.
Lean Canvas Due
- Friday, March 5th (5pm)
Customer Discovery Worksheet Due
- Friday, March 19th (5:00pm)
Obtaining customer feedback is a vital part of validating the market need, identifying early adopters, and determining potential buyers. You will be required to describe the customer landscape and provide specific customer feedback as part of the application process.
Pitch Practice Sessions – MANDATORY
- Friday, March 26th (1pm-5pm)
- Wednesday, March 31st (1pm-5pm)
- Tuesday, April 6th (8am-12pm)
- Wednesday, April 12th (8am-12pm)
The team PI must attend a Pitch Practice Session. Email cmifund@uw.edu to select a 30-minute appointment time.
Customer Survey Summary and *Revised Lean Canvas Due
- Friday, April 2nd (5pm)
*mark revisions to original Lean Canvas either with a new color or a changed font.
Full Proposal Due
- Friday, April 16th (5pm)
