Earlier this month, the CoMotion MakerSpace hosted its quarterly Show & Tell where UW students and teams display their recently completed and in-progress projects and creations with attendees. This spring’s participants brought all manner of projects, from Tomoko’s gorgeous handmade resin castings to UW Superbike’s electric motorcycle project. Another favorite from this event was a laser cut film camera for taking panoramic images. There’s something for everyone at Show & Tell — be it artistry, engineering, or pure craftsmanship. We always enjoy seeing the wild ideas people bring!
Going forward, we’re changing our philosophy a bit on the types of projects we hope to see at these events — we’re now actively encouraging everyone to bring their works in progress. The reason for this is that the feedback received at an event like this has resulted in some drastic redesigns. In the future, we’d like the Show & Tell to help everyone develop their ideas further, open them up to discussion, and take them to the next level.
If you have a project you’d like to bring to an event like this, or maybe just want to see what everyone else has been up to, keep in touch with the MakerSpace’s Facebook page for announcements and opportunities.
