Gene Yelden joined CoMotion in November 2012 as a senior technology manager, mainly handling physical science, engineering and medical device technologies. Prior to joining CoMotion, he spent four-and-a-half years with the Johns Hopkins Technology Transfer Office, most recently as the director of the group responsible for the physical sciences portfolio. He has extensive experience in both academic and corporate/industrial environments, including international experience in Europe, Asia and Australia. He has been chief scientist, director of R&D, and head of product development groups for both industrial and medical laser manufacturers. He earned his B.Sc. in physics from the University of British Columbia and his Ph.D. in electrical engineering (laser & plasma physics) from the University of Alberta. He also holds an M.B.A., with specialization in technology and innovation management.
