Institute of Translational Health Sciences (ITHS) Fellows dig into the world of tech commercialization by working with inventors, tech managers, and experts. By conducting market research and writing feasibility reports, fellows get experience both consulting and assessing firsthand whether a particular early-stage technology presents a start-up or licensing opportunity. Milestone deliverables and a final presentation are required.
All University of Washington MBAs, Technology Entrepreneurship Certificate students, and graduate students with entrepreneurial interests/backgrounds are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to current students.
Successful applicants will be excellent self-starters, highly analytical, and comfortable asking questions, talking with potential customers, or networking with industry experts and other potential mentors.
Applications are accepted in February each year, please contact Samantham Ogle at firstname.lastname@example.org for a list of available technologies.
Email all application materials to Samantha Ogle at email@example.com. Please include a resume and cover letter describing what you could bring to the projects in which you are most interested. Please note that there may be more than five technologies, but only five fellowships will be funded. The intent is to match the strongest candidate to the appropriate technology, so make your application as specific as possible in presenting why you are the right candidate to work with a particular technology. It’s fine to apply for more than one technology, but you must rank your preferences and thoroughly explain your interest in each one.
Attached is a planning timeline draft for summer fellows this year. Please take a look at the summer meetings and see how the dates fit in with CoMotion activities.
